Tom Reich

About me

Tom Reich, born in 1965, from Munich. I started my vocational training in the 1980s as a massage therapist in the therapy rooms of Mr. Hans-Jürgen Montag. Thereafter I attended a night school in Munich to receive my A-levels, after which I studied human medicine at the LMU Munich (Ludwig Maximilian University Munich).

In parallel, I completed the post-qualification as a physiotherapist. Various courses of study in the fields of sports physiotherapy, alternative practices (as an alternative practitioner for sports), chirotherapy, osteopathy, manual therapy and rehabilitation training followed.

After the successful vocational education as a specialist teacher for manual therapy in 2004, I first started teaching under the direction of my mentor Mr. Dr. Omer Matthijs, and later I lead autonomously numerous courses for manual therapy over several years. At the same time, I worked (intermittently) at the soccer club TSV 1860 Munich as a physiotherapist for a total of eight years and developed successful rehabilitation programs for injured players. These programs aim at reducing significantly the downtime for the respective rehabilitating players – always according to the motto “optimum instead of maximum“.

The love for soccer was born to me. I went through all the youth teams of TSV 1860 Munich and had played before my professional career as a therapist, in what was then the third highest German soccer league in the senior sector.

Not only soccer players, but also athletes of other sports (ice hockey, skiing, tennis, etc.) trusted and still believe in my work as a rehabilitative physiotherapist as well as a rehab trainer. However, my focus is on soccer as it is the sport that I identify with the most.
